Feeling really fed up with my spotty cheeks by ali 40 on Mon Aug 22, 2011 3:17 pm
Hi,

I'm new to the forum, was feeling really down and wanted to talk to other sufferers.

I noticed in around April time that my cheeks were getting spotty but were not going like other spots. It took me a while to go to the doctors so about 8 weeks ago i went and she prescibed the antibiotic gel which sort of worked, i've been using only natural creams and oils as well especially for Rosacea but then we went to portugal for are summer holiday, i sun blocked which was alcohol free and tried my best to keep my head shaded. My cheeks now are the worst they've ever been.

I just don't really want to go out and face people because i've noticed how when you talk to you the they are looking at my cheeks. I just want it to go away i'm 40yrs old and always made an effort to look nice don't get me wrong i was never caked in make up i'm a gardener so more into the natural look. I can live with the red cheeks, foundation can hide that but not these horrible red bumps, please someone tell me the...

young people and rosacea by goldie on Fri Aug 05, 2011 3:58 pm
hi there,

I have a daughter who has rosacea. of course this is not recognised in the proffesional world, and i have been fighting for it to be diagnosed for years. i saw another dermatologist today who said she agrees my daughter has all the charecteristics of rosacea and if she was 30 she would be diagnosing it with rosacea, but will not put pen to paper and put it down as this as it has not been recorded as far as she is aware. my daughter and I have been through a very long frustrating and agonising journey because of her condition. i want to know if there is anyone else out there who is very young and also suffers with this.

also any other advice and support will be greatly appreciated to help alleviate this condition for her.

much appreciated and very frustrated mum (:|

Starting Out by Seren on Tue Jul 12, 2011 12:47 pm
Ok....so it's July 2011 and I am properly starting my quest to reduce the appearance of my (what I am sure will be diagnosed as) Rosacea type ii.

This is a kind of Blog/Diary and if anyone happens across it then I would be grateful for any comments/input as always.

Firstly I am going to see a dermatologist....probably nearer the end of the month.

In the interim I am doing the following........

Cutting out Alcohol, Refined Sugar, Wheat, Gluten, Dairy and Soya. It is tough but going well so far.

Drinking more water.
Eating much more veg.
Eating fruit but being careful not to eat too much citrus fruit.

I have gone back to using the ZenMed cleansing cream as it feels nice on my skin then followed by Simple Replenishing rich moisturiser.

I have been reading about Oil Pulling and the Oil Cleanse Method and may well give them a go if I can get my hands on some cold pressed oils without too much hassle. Seems most likely they will have to be sourced over the internet.

After having a week...

Herbal things I have used to help me. by matthefav on Wed Jul 06, 2011 11:06 pm
One is of course Lysine, great help with flushing.... And broken blood vessels in face, as it cuts Argine a blood vessel dialator..
Two to increase healing in blood vessels close to skin vitamen C with ((bioflavanoids..note that)) is of great help as it speads healing in the skin and blood vessles. nothing worse then broken vessels around your nose or checks,, hate it..
Three Ganoderma lucidum or its common name is Reshi mushroom, it rocks as it Stimulates the Immune System and increase your bloodes abilitey to flow through out your body/skin. And I have found it kicks my Rosacea were it counts lol
Also have found not drinking acid coffee is away to have coffe, if its bitter then its a no drink coffee.. look for acidity in brands, dont know why this helps. as then I can have some coffee through out my day, if its acidic I get flushing and ichy cheeks.
Four Garlic to keep my blood pressure down if it goes up as nothing makes flushing worse then higher blood pressure it just pushes that...

My nose & chin by goodmind on Tue Jun 28, 2011 9:34 am
Hello everyone. Im new to this site
I just found this great forum. Seems like there's a lot of great knowledge and info here thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences.

I was diagnosed with rosacea 3 years ago, but I didn't worry much about it.
Since it was hardly noticeable. What I had was small bumps on my chin, skin color ,with no change, and no redness on my face. Each skin bump usually comes after a pimple was healed. Recently this condition getting more progressive. The bumps are getting bigger, and also I see a development on my nose ☹, my nose has a bumpy and a swollen look.
I went to 3 dermatologists. They didn’t give me an efficient treatment.
The last one checked my skin and gave me Doxycycline. But it doesn’t seems to help.
Im suspecting I have Phymatous Rosacea, since all bumps are skin excess and my skin is very oily, maybe it is sebaceous glands growth.

I would love to hear any opinion
Thank you all
